Album cover for the track In the desert - By Kjartan Abel

In the Desert, an epic cinematic musical journey

An epic cinematic musical journey through one the Algerian desert.

“In the Desert” is an epic cinematic musical journey through one of the harshest landscapes on the planet, the Algerian desert, and the people who call it home.

It gives me great pleasure to present “In the desert,” an ambient electronic chilled track with elements of intrigue, texture, and discovery that draws inspiration from artists such as Tangerine Dream and Vangelis. In this slowly evolving composition, ethereal pads and synths are laid over spectral, sparse percussion with dreamy atmospheric hooks.

Kjartan Abel
Kjartan Abel became an artist at 30 by accident, with an umbrella and a creative lie about software. He has spent the years since working at the intersection of technology, art, and cultural heritage — building interactive museum installations, automating things that probably shouldn't be automated, and occasionally connecting hamsters to the internet. He holds an MFA from UCL Slade School of Fine Art and a BA from Kingston University, and currently works as a digital advisor at Østfoldmuseene in Norway. His blog covers music curation, creative technology, and the specific frustration of being too early to everything.
